Summer Program

Parents please bring the following by June 15th. These will be left here at Peaceful Beginnings through seasonal year for all our activities:

• Bible old and new testament 
• Swim suit 
• Reading book; age appropriate
• Sunblock (may be trial size)
• Change of cloths

 

Summer Program

This years summer program starts June 22nd!
It is going to be an exciting time with many event, all new curriculum and a extra surprise for the kids in the yard to enjoy!  The new curriculum is: Getting  Grip On The Basics For Kids By, Beth Jones.  It is a bible study specifically for kids; using their own bibles, looking up scripture addresses and learning to understand the Word.  Please be sure to bring your child's old & new testament bible every day.  Check in with your child continually talking and interacting with what they have learned.  We want to plant seeds of God's Word into the hearts of our children so they develop strong roots, growing to be successful and prosperous in all they do!

What you can do as a parent:
1. Pray for your child: There are prayers found in Ephesians 1:16-20 and Colassians 1:9-12 that you can pray daily.
2. Ask your child what they are learning and how God is speaking to their hearts as they study.  Interact with them and take the opportunity share.
3. Help them to 'do the Word' each day.
4. Take home their work sheets as they finish and go over it with them.

Summer Program starts June 22nd!!!

Child Responsibility Program:
Various ways for your child to earn money this summer, (all money will be saved) to tithe off, working towards Baskin Robins ice cream day and Wunderland Experience
Opportunities:
Yard work: 0.25cents full bucket of leaves & .05cents each bucket dumping.
Household job: 0.25cents each.
Permission slips will be sent home soon with details and dates. 

Field Trips:
We are packing the summer with mulitple fun outtings.  Each will require a permission slip, look for them by the front door and pick up by calendar.  Permission silps for field trips will be sent home soon.  Permission slips and payment for Oregon Zoo need to be in no later than June 12th.  Please mark your calendar for these dates:

$4 Tuesday at the Oregon Zoo
Every 2nd Tuesday of the month get to the Oregon Zoo in SW Portland for admission of $4 each person, all day. Get out to meet the new Lions and explore animals of every kind!

New Staff Members Coming!!

There will be some new staff members joining Peaceful Beginnings this spring/summer! Be on the look out for information to come...


If you know of anyone that would fit into our program here and would like to refer them for part time assisting, volunteering or helping let me know!


All staff members will go through interviews, background checks and finally approval from all parents. This will be an exciting time for us all. Opportunities for your child include: field trips, individual attention, and extended study time.

Child Sign In Sheet

There is a sign in sheet at the front door:

Please be sure at drop off that you sign in your child by filling it out with: child's name, date, time in and adult name dropping off.

Than again at pick up please: write time out, adult pick up name and initial.

Initials will be done only by parent in agreement with PB, so if someone else picks up your child you will need to go back and verify those times with your initials.

It is your responsibility to fill this out daily to keep track of your schedules! Thank you in advance, you all are awesome and I am so excited for the growth that's happening at PB!

So exciting when they get what you've been teaching them!

Let's go over some things!

So as we go further into teaching and understanding, I think that it is important to go over some basic things. Although they have not yet learned about the Holy Spirit in Bible class here, I really have it on my heart to go over the fruits of the Spirit. They will not be introduced that way, but we will tap on each of them and give demonstrations on how to use/show them in everyday situations.
The Fruits Of The Spirit:
Galatians 5:22-23
Love
Joy
Peace
Long suffering- Patience
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness- all kids can be reminded of this!
Self Control- last but most important
As you read, all these are sooo important and we need to be sure that we install them in children's' lives! I think the only thing I will add to this scripture is when all these things are done, we are trusted by others in all areas and now have great integrity. What a way to show that we are Christians and what we stand for! What is integrity?
